Playtest 1

Hi Everyone, 

Killer Escape was made to be a quick to learn and play type of game where friends have fun by ruining each others' momentum. So rather than re-invent the game, I would rather just focus on its strengths. Our main goals is to balance out the characters, add in more item and monster variety, and give it a different, more cohesive aesthetic. Currently Killer Escape is a strictly PvP (4-player), loot & extract, table top game that uses a combination of comedic and horror inspired designs to create a a very punishing game framed within a delightfully cartoonish world. For this class, I want to delve back into it's original serious-horror roots that the game was initially founded on. To do this, the game will be set in a medieval/light fantasy world filled with a variety of eldritch horrors that take inspiration from the likes of Junji Ito to Lovecraft.

For our first three weeks Me, Roy and Nate have come up with ways that were going to design the new board. Although we plan to change the theme and layout of the board our game is still going to have the same assets and components as our old version. We have decided what components what we will need being cards, tokens, character cards, banners, how to play book, and individual playmats. After from our play-test from this week we will be updating and adding more ways to make the game longer and have players play the game more. Since the biggest critique was that our game felt a little too short and players wanted to play more and keep on playing so we will be adding more on to the next board to keep the game going on longer. We will also be updating the character cards and making the letters bigger so players can see what their items can do and when they can be discarded. Overall our first play-test was a success with our players enjoying the game and helping give back helpful critique although we may not keep the mall as a map and we still plan on changing the theme we will still have more monsters, content, and bosses for next play-test, along with new characters. Lastly our game name will be changed from Killer Escape to Evil Has a Name.
